Electric Dodge Muscle Car Concept Will Debut in 2024

• Dodge will launch an electric muscle car in 2024 under what it's calling eMuscle.
• The new Dodge EV will use one of Stellantis' dedicated electric vehicle platforms providing up to 500 miles of range.
• We'll know more about the new electric muscle car soon, and it's not yet clear if it's an electric version of the Charger or Challenger.

Dodge came out and broadcasted that it will in the near future offer an electric muscle car under what it's calling eMuscle. The new electric Dodge will launch in 2024, giving us a tease at what the new car's front end could look like, and it looks appropriately retro.

Amidst the worries, Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis says that V8-powered and battery-electric will exist alongside each other for at least a few years so we still have some time to hear that V8 roar and whine.

"The new platform comes in 2024," he said. "We didn't say that the current cars are going to die in 2024. There might be a little overlap, but you're not going to have years and years and years of the classic and the new one at the same time."

It's still not revealed if this new Dodge EV will be an electric version of the two-door Challenger or four-door Charger. Dodge placed the classic Fratzog logo which was used in the 1960s and '70s, on the car's grille. Dodge says that using it is "a nod to the future, which will bring about another great automotive era – the era of the electrified muscle car."

Dodge's parent company, Stellantis, announced that it has four dedicated electric vehicle platforms, and three are unibody constructions offering 300 to 500 miles of driving range. Hopefully, it powers to the far end with the 500 mile range.

This should certainly bring a huge sigh of relief for many, let's hope Dodge refuses to let the V8 muscle car go out with nothing less than an uproar of horsepower, whenever it does happen.

Just like the Viper and Demon, all good things come to an end. However, Dodge is aiming for an all-electric future. Before then, though, we could be in store for some awesome combustion powered models from the brand. The EV revolution will come for Dodge.
